Software
ScaleQ scale management and control software allows fast and accurate bulk weighing for all industrial applications. The software has two versions: ScaleQ Advantage is the standardized product, offering configuration options for tuning, thereby avoiding the need for customization and making it easy to install and easy to support. ScaleQ Exclusive supports detailed application-specific customizations to address specialized projects or unique industry requirements, especially for enterprise customers.

ScaleQ Advantage
ScaleQ Advantage features an intuitive, simple-to-use interface that supports efficient high-volume weighing and ticketing at the busiest scale house. As a standard application, with extensive configurability, it meets a wide variety of customer-specific requirements. Make no mistake: It is full-featured software — not a limited, stripped-down program.

Using Microsoft Windows, a detailed SQL database structure tracks all the information you require for Customers, Jobs, Quotas, Haulers and Materials. In addition, Advantage’s Price Catalogs provide the ability to maintain multiple price lists that can be assigned to multiple customers or be designated for a single job, as your workflow demands. With the ability to replicate files, you can establish a template Price Catalog that can be copied and then tailored for your customers and jobs.

Advantage includes site-definable Category files for the Customer, Job, Material Hauler and Truck Records. For each of these files, you can create multiple categories and category types to enhance the power of ILS’s integrated QReport Report Writer. Using Categories, you can design reports with sort fields, totals and page breaks based on specific criteria that let you manage your business for efficiency and profit.

ScaleQ Exclusive
Interface Logic Systems is proud of its reputation for meeting the varied requirements of a diverse clientele. ScaleQ Exclusive continues ILS’s commitment to addressing specialized projects that require application-specific modifications or customizations.

The option to manage unattended or loadout operations is included in ScaleQ Exclusive customizations. To support this, Exclusive uses a customized database plus optional modules for signature and video capture, in-yard tracking, order entry and truck dispatch, as well as back office functionality for digital ticket imaging and office administration.

Another key difference between Advantage and Exclusive is how Price Catalogs are defined and deployed. With Advantage’s standard setup, Price is a component of the Catalog and the Catalog is assigned to Customer and Job records. With Exclusive, Price can be directly assigned customer-by-customer or job-by-job for greater specificity.

ILS specializes in automated scale management systems to permit unattended scale operation with accuracy and security. The use of Remote Data Terminals with Identification Card Scanners or Radio Frequency Vehicle Identification can enable 24-hour operation without the need for around-the-clock scale house personnel. High-traffic facilities can dedicate one scale to unattended operation, allowing frequent-visit vehicles to avoid delays waiting for cash transactions to be processed by a scale attendant. All transaction data is maintained in a single database, allowing for integrated reporting. With the incorporation of automated facility access control, only authorized vehicles can enter the property and be weighed during restricted hours.

Photocells, traffic lights, signature pads and access control gates are among the accessories that can be used to enhance the security and reliability of unattended weighing operations.

For the Asphalt and Aggregates industries, ILS offers automated loadout control functions to improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency of bulk material shipping operations. Loadout control may be interfaced with either motor truck platform scales or weigh hopper scales, and can be customized to meet your particular application.

QReport Generator

QReport, the fully integrated ScaleQ report generator, mines the transaction history for management information that can help you to run your business smartly. QReport is supplied as standard with every system, both Advantage and Exclusive. A wizard simplifies designing reports, whether they are quick daily summaries or more complex quarterly or yearly trending reports to help you identify your best customers and top-selling products. Reports can be run on demand or scheduled for after-hours output.

With QReport, any field of any table in the database can be reported on for management, inventory and financial information. You can sort, group and select on any field and link from one table to another, based on the linkages already set up in the database. Once you have the report you want, you can view the results on the screen, print them to a printer or PDF, e-mail them, save them to a spreadsheet, or view them as a Web page. Data files can be exported to third-party applications. An optional interface to QuickBooks™ can significantly improve speed and accuracy over manual transcription of scale data.

GateKeeper QAC

Interface Logic Systems’ GateKeeper Quality Access Control software is designed for commercial, industrial and residential gated facilities where restricted access is required. Many of our weigh scale customers wanted to extend yard hours at unattended scales without adding to the payroll. GateKeeper is designed to limit which trucks are allowed into the yard after hours, checks them in and then triggers the gate to open. Further security designates which gates can be opened after hours, including the assignment of vehicles to gates to enforce protection by managing access to and within the yard.

The system is designed to interface with TransCore SmartPass Radio Frequency Tag Readers (or other automated vehicle identification systems) to permit automated, unattended and authorized facility access. GateKeeper also interfaces with each gate mechanism, automatically opening the gate when an authorized vehicle or individual is identified.

In a typical scenario, as an approaching is recognized by a detector imbedded in the driveway, the SmartPass Reader captures the vehicle’s Radio Frequency Identification Code (RFID). The system searches the Vehicle file and on finding a valid vehicle record, the gate is activated, allowing the vehicle to pass. The vehicle's identification number and time and date of passage are recorded in the database history file.

Departure may be either free, using detectors to activate the gate, or, to provide the greatest protection and security, controlled using another SmartPass Reader. Controlled entrance and departure provide a detailed record of when each vehicle entered and exited, and, if appropriate, by which gate. If necessary, the elapsed time in-yard may be calculated, printed and stored in the history file.

Each controlled gate is graphically represented, showing its current status. The system operator may override the RFID system to manually open and close gates as necessary. GateKeeper also permits multiple fixed times, on a daily basis, for automatic opening and closing of specific gates. This can be set to open gates for morning and evening rush hours, shift changes or scheduled delivery times. Setting and reviewing the schedule is quick and simple.

When the Notification Flag is set for a specific vehicle, a message will be displayed, indicating that the vehicle has entered. This may be used to enable fleet managers to deliver messages to drivers. The notification message can be set to remain on screen until manually cleared, or to clear after a specified interval. Notification messages can "stack up" on the screen like message slips on a desk.

Remote Ticket Printer
Dot matrix or thermal strip printer, in a weather-resistant enclosure suitable for outdoor/scale-side installation. Enables drivers to receive ticket, receipt or activity report without leaving the vehicle. Both units feature auto-cutoff.

Dot Matrix Printer features a 40-column, 9-pin dot matrix mechanism and auto-cutoff. Printer can be purchased without enclosure. Supplies for purchase are:

• Paper, 3½” wide x 5” dia. x 458’ long; discount requires purchase of 24-roll case quantities.

• Ribbon Cartridge (specify purple or black)

Direct Thermal printer provides graphic capabilities and high-speed printing and auto-cutoff. Printer can be purchased without enclosure. Supplies for purchase are:

Data Line Surge Protector
Protects remote serial devices interfaced with the PC. Protection consists of a quick-connect surge protector installed within the remote enclosure and in-line DB25 surge protectors for installation at the computer. Surge protectors have a clamp voltage of 18v.

Enclosure Heater
Silicone rubber enclosure heater has air-sensing thermostat set to open at 60° F and close at 40° F. The unit has a maximum energized exposure temperature of 450°, de-energized exposure temperature of 500° F and minimum exposure temperature of -60° F. Other temperature ranges are optionally available.

Traffic Light Control System
Software and hardware to provide automated control one red-green traffic light. Traffic light status will be displayed adjacent to the scale weight on the ScaleQ screen.
